Duchess of Cambridge ended July with a sailing race participation at Plymouth on July 31, 2022. The activity was part of her engagement with 1815 Trust, a non-profit organization founded by British Olympian sailor, Sir Ben Ainslie.
1815 Trust, according to its description on social media, offers free curriculum-based STEM resources that explore the science behind sustainability and sports.
1815 Trust promotes a sustainable program called Protect Our Future, which is the first in the world that promotes climate-positive sports. The Duchess of Cambridge is the patron of 1815 Trust since 2014.
Protect Our Future aims to be an initiative to empower the young generation with skills and knowledge to understand Climate Science.
They aim to take action in protecting people, our planet, and the ocean and help promote a sustainable environment.

On July 31, 2022, the Duchess of Cambridge participated in the Protect Our Future Program of the 1815 Trust at Plymouth. She was seen joining the organization's activities near the beach as well as supporting SailGP in the sailing race.
She joined Ben Ainslie, the most decorated British Olympian sailor, and SailGP Team Great Britain aboard their F50 catamaran during the high-speed sailing race, which was part of the Great Britain Sail Grand Prix tournament.

Crews, including Kate, wore helmets for safety reasons as the boats lifted out of the water, where speed can reach up as high as 100kph (62mph). The high-speed foiling catamarans from nine countries have been racing on Plymouth Sound over the weekend.
The Duchess of Cambridge was in her right element during the sailing race event, wearing a wetsuit, helmet, limited edition of SailGP sunglasses, and Adidas running shoes.

Traveling at speeds of up to 55mph in a gusty wind, they sailed to an easy victory over Team New Zealand ahead of the official final day’s racing at the grand prix
“She’s a very good sailor in her own right,” Sir Ben said, pointing out she had sailed with him on foiling boats before and had also sailed across the Atlantic.
The Duchess of Cambridge is a keen sailor and has been into this sports since she was a teenager. When she married Prince William, she often participated in a friendly sailing race event with the Duke of Cambridge, although she often lost to her husband.
During their Caribbean tour in March this year, she and Prince William also participated in Sailing Regatta in the Bahamas.
Before the sailing race, she met both teams and was toured to show how the vessels worked. She also got to meet other sailors and listened to their discussions about the event and the vessels.
Kate was so engrossed with the conversation that at one point, Sir Ben Ainslie hurried her up and joked: “Come on, we’ve got a race to do, mate.”
For her Plymouth engagement, the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in a classic summer look by wearing a pair of white sneakers, oyster linen tailored shorts, and blue-striped cashmere sweater from Erdem. She accessorized her summer look with gold hoop earrings.
During her solo engagement in Plymouth, Kate was able to meet young people working on the 1851 Trust’s Protect Our Future initiative, making seagrass mats to be planted off Plymouth Sound.
Kate was shown how to sow the delicate plants by 12-year-old Jersey schoolboy Ben Carnegie-Bedlow and followed his instructions while working on a mat.
It's a classic, casual summer look of the Duchess of Cambridge as she joined Team Great Britain in a sports event she always loved. She was all smiles as she greeted the spectators along the port.
Kate always loves life on the beach and the ocean. And early in July, she was seen hopping in a helicopter alongside Prince William, their three children, and their dog Orla, from the Kensington Palace ground.
They were touted to be spending early summer in the Isles of Scilly in Cornwall where they quietly celebrated the 9th birthday of their eldest son, Prince George of Cambridge.
The royal couple also posted a birthday portrait of Prince George, photographed by Kate, which was taken in the beach side.
