New Portrait of Princess Estelle of Sweden To Mark Her 11th Birthday

The Swedish Royal Court released a new portrait of Princess Estelle, Duchess of Ostergotland to mark her 11th birthday. Happy birthday!

Born Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary on February 23, 2012, at Karolinska University Hospital in Solna, Sweden, Princess Estelle is the eldest child of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Duchess of Vastergotland, and Prince Daniel Westling.

In her new portrait, Princess Estelle looked so grown-up with her long blonde hair cascading to her front shoulders, and with a pensive look to the camera. She's also wearing a tweed mini skirt from Patachou clothing brand for children and a white silk blouse.

Princess Estelle is the eldest grandchild of His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden

She is second in line in direct succession to the Swedish throne. She is the first Swedish princess to be born a direct heir to the throne who can't be superseded by the birth of a younger brother.

She has a younger brother, Prince Oscar, Duke of Skarne, who is third in line of succession to the Swedish throne.

However, in Britain where the Swedish royals are also listed in the line of succession as direct descendants of Queen Victoria, Prince Oscar precedes Princess Estelle (and so Prince Carl Philip over Crown Princess Victoria) in the line of succession. The United Kingdom only switched to Absolute Law of Succession in 2013 and wasn't implemented retroactively.

Princess Estelle's royal godparents include her maternal uncle, Prince Carl Philip, Duke of Varmland, King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.
