After a busy start of the year, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, his wife, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and their daughter, Lady Louise, whisked off to St. Moritz in Switzerland for a well-deserved winter holiday. Their son, James, Earl of Wessex, was not seen joining his family on the slope.

Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, who turned 20 in November 2003, wore a light green jacket, a lavender neck scarf, ski goggles, and a white ski helmet.

Her father, the Duke of Edinburgh wore a bright red Colmar ski jacket with black trousers and a matching ski helmet. 

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Edinburgh donned her favorite Sweaty Betty 'Moritz Soft Shell Ski Trousers' with blue knitwear and a navy button-up jacket.

The Edinburghs missed attending the memorial service for Edward's cousin, King Constantine II of Greece, which was held on Tuesday, February 27. They seemed not in the UK also when Lady Gabriella Windsor's husband, Thomas Kingston, died from a gunshot wound on the head.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will have a very busy year as they take on more royal engagement loads while King Charles III undergoes treatment for his cancer diagnosis. Catherine, the Princess of Wales would not be backed on royal duties until after Easter, according to palace reports.

St. Moritz in Switzerland has been the favorite ski holiday destination of aristocrats. Prince Edward and Sophie often visited the resort with their children during winter break. 

Just weeks ago, Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edo Mapelli-Mozzi were joined by Princess Maria Olympia of Greece, and other members of the Greek royal family for a skiing holiday in St. Moritz. Princess Nina, the wife of Prince Philippos, is from St. Moritz.
