On December 6, 2024, members of the Royal Family attended the Christmas Carol Service, Together at Christmas, at Westminster Abbey. It was the fourth Christmas Carol Service hosted by Catherine, the Princess of Wales. She started this special Advent season activity in 2021 to send warm comfort to those whose family members lost their lives during the pandemic.

This year, the Christmas Carol Service was even more meaningful as Catherine herself faced a very challenging health issue when she underwent chemotherapy for her cancer diagnosis after her abdominal surgery in January.

This year's theme is all about kindness and empathy. The service was supported by The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales. It highlighted the importance of love and compassion, and how much we need each other, especially during the most difficult times in our lives.

Apart from members of the Royal Family and Kate's direct family, the Middletons, around 1,600 people across the United Kingdom were invited. People who have shown kindness towards others in their communities, through any means of support and generosity.
