The Danish royal house released a series of official gala portraits of Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella of Denmark to mark her 18th birthday on April 21. Born Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe on April 21, 2007, she is the eldest daughter and second child of King Frederik X and Queen Mary. She is currently second in the line of succession to the Danish throne, behind her older brother. Crown Prince Christian.
In her portraits, taken by Steen Evald in the Knight's Hall of King Frederick VIII's Palace, the princess dazzled in a silk orange gown by designer Carina Gronning. Princess Isabella also wore a tiara for the first time! She wore her grandmother's turquoise bandeau called the Turquoise Diamond Daisy Bandeau, with matching earrings.Â

The bandeau is said to be originally belonged to Queen Margrethe's grandmother, Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden, who was born a British princess, Margaret of Connaught, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria.Â
Princess Isabella, who is also titled Countess of Monpezat, was bestowed with the Order of Elephant by her father. It's the highest chivalric order in Denmark. In October 2023, her older brother, Crown Prince Christian also received the same honor when he turned 18.Â
According to the palace, the turquoise bandeau is "made of gold and is adorned with 11 rosettes of "daisy-like flowers" in decreasing sizes". As it's an 18th birthday gift from her grandmother, Princess Isabella will be the principal wearer of this bandeau.
We are looking forward to more occasions where Princess Isabella would wear this lovely floral tiara. Princess Isabella also wore the House Order of her father she pinned in the sash.
