Princess Ines of Sweden Baptized on Her Parents 10th Wedding Anniversary

Prince Carl Philip of Sweden, Duke of Värmland, and his wife, Princess Sofia, Duchess of Värmland, celebrated a very special 10th wedding anniversary on June 13, 2025, as it marked the day their fourth child and only daughter, Princess Ines, was baptized at the Drottningholm Palace Chapel.

Princess Ines was born on February 7, 2025. Days after her birth, her grandfather, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, made an announcement at a Council of State that his new granddaughter would be named Ines Marie Lilian Silvia and would be known as Princess Ines. The royal baby was also granted the Duchy of Västerbotten.

Princess Ines assumes her position as the 8th in line to the Swedish throne, but just like her older brothers and cousins from Princess Madeleine, she would not be titled Her Royal Highness due to King Carl XVI Gustaf's decision in October 2019 to streamline the Swedish monarchy.

On June 13, Princess Ines was baptized by Chief Chaplain Bishop Johan Dalman and Ordinary Chaplain Michael Bjerkhagen, pastor of the Royal Court Assembly.

Her godparents are her first cousin Princess Estelle, who is just 13 years old, Tiara Larsson, Fredrik von der Esch, Claes Kockum and Sandrine Kockum. Tiara is Princess Sofia's goddaughter and bridesmaid and the three others are Prince Carl Philip's longtime friends.

The King bestowed the little princess with the Royal Order of Seraphim, the highest Order of Chivalry in the Kingdom of Sweden. All of Princess Ines' brothers and cousins also received the same Order on their baptism day.

Royal attendees to the baptism include Crown Princess Victoria, her husband, Prince Daniel, their children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar. Princess Madeleine of Sweden, her husband Christopher O'Neill, and their children: Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas, and Princess Adrienne, and the King's older sister Princess Christina and her husband, Tord Magnuson.
