Despite the pain he gave to his father and all his waywardness as a royal, watching Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex walked to the Coronation Ceremony like one of the guests still a bit sad.Â
The Duke of Sussex, who attended his father's Coronation ceremony without his wife, Meghan, arrived at Westminster Abbey with the Yorks. And chatted with Princess Beatrice and her husband Edo Mapelli-Mozzi as they headed inside the church.

But what surprised the public is how he was assigned his seat during the ceremony. Prince Harry occupied a place beside Jack Brooksbank, a third row behind his brother, Prince William. As though he was just among the invited guests and not a King's son.
The Duke of Sussex didn't also wear a Coronation Robe, he just donned a morning suit with his medals pinned to his chest.Â

His appearance looked uneventful. Even though he smiled a bit, he seemed uncomfortable all throughout the ceremony. And looked distracted.Â

While the rest of the Royal Family kept flipping a copy of the service, the Duke of Sussex looked restless and kept chatting with Jack Brooksbank.
Prince Harry's forlorn appearance, as though he was tired, made him look like just attending a friend's wedding.
Unlike in the past Coronations where royal dukes traditionally paid homage to the newly-crowned Sovereign, this time, only the Archbishop of Canterbury and The Prince of Wales paid homage to the King.
King Charles III finally crowned |
Prince Harry had just been relegated to the role of a guest at his father's Coronation and when His Majesty's entourage left the Church, Prince Harry just stood outside Westminster Abbey, looking at his father from afar as Their Majesties climbed to the Gold State Coach. His wife, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, did not attend the ceremony for unclear reasons.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, their children, and The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their children were also riding on the coach to complete the cast of the Coronation Procession.Â

The working royals flanked Their Majesties on the balcony of Buckingham Palace and waved to the cheering crowd below. While the King's second son just disappeared in the background.
According to The Telegraph, Prince Harry left the church and went straight to the airport to travel back to the United States to be with his wife and children. His son, Prince Archie, turned four years old today.
So it means that The Duke of Sussex wouldn't be celebrating his father's Coronation with the rest of the Royal Family. His relationship with his family seemed forever strained after his explosive memoir released in January.Â
