Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Individual Bios Removed from Royal Family's Website

Harry and Meghan

The individual pages of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the Royal Family's Official website have been removed, and now combined into one page - The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The content of each of their bio on the combined page has been reduced. Prince Harry has five paragraphs while Meghan has only two paragraphs to describe her background.

Moreover, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's combined page has been moved to the bottom of the website section, below the profile of Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, who is also a non-working royal.

It is understood that the decision to remove their individual page, and just fuse them into one, is part of their status as non-working members of the royal family.

The rest of the married working family members have their separate pages from their spouses such as the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

It took four years since Harry and Meghan stepped down as working senior royals for the palace to remove their individual pages.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced in December 2019 that they will step back from public duty. It was made official in March 2020. In February 2021, the Palace confirmed that Harry and Meghan will not be returning as senior working royals.

However, despite their decision to step back from royal duties, Harry and Meghan retained their separate pages on the royal family's website under the section: Role of Members of the Royal Family. Until this month when their bio pages are fused into a single page.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex currently live in Montecito, Santa Barbara, California. It's a sprawling home with nine bedrooms and 16th bathrooms valued at $14.7million

Despite their non-working royal status, Prince Harry retains his place, and those of his descendants, in the line of succession to the British throne.

The opening text of their new joined page on the royal family's website said:

As announced in January 2020, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stepped back as working members of The Royal Family. The couple married in St George's Chapel, Windsor on 19 May 2018 and have two children: Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex.

The name American Riviera Orchard sounds like a nod to where the Sussexes are currently living, Santa Barbara, California. This coastal city is often dubbed the “American Riviera” due to its warm climate, lush green landscapes, and food-and-wine scene.
