William and Catherine, the Prince and Princess of Wales made their first joint engagement to Wales in 2025 by visiting South Wales on February 27 ahead of St. David's Day on March 1.
The couple arrived by train in Cardiff and traveled to Pontypridd to learn how the community is coping from the devastation of recent flooding. They also met several business owners to find out their recovery amidst the flood evastation.Â

One of these businesses they visited was The Welsh Cakeshop which sells traditional Welsh cakes. Prince William and Catherine tried their hands on cake baking, wearing aprons as they took the challenge of producing traditional Welsh cakes on their own.

The couple also visited the Meadow Street Community Garden which was also devastated by floods in November 2024. The royal couple toured the area and listened to staff how the garden bounced back from the disaster.

William and Catherine pinned daffodils on their breast in observance of the upcoming St. David's Day, the Feasts of Wales patron saint. Daffodil is the National flower of Wales.Â
