Happy birthday Princess Eugenie! The 12th in line of succession to the British throne turns 32 today, March 23, 2022. The princess has thought to have celebrated her birthday quietly at Frogmore house on the grounds of Windsor estate with her husband and son.
Frogmore house was turned over by her cousin, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, to her when the Sussexes left Britain for good to settle in California. It is not far from the Royal Lodge, where Eugenie's parents, the Duke and Duchess of York, currently reside.

1. Her real name is Eugenie Victoria Helena. She was named after Queen Victoria's granddaughter, Queen Victoria Eugenia, the wife of King Alfonso XIII of Spain, and the great-grandmother of the reigning Spanish monarch, King Felipe VI.
2. After marriage she ceased to be Princess Eugenie of York but referred to as Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank in Court Circular. It's customary in the royal family that women belonged to the house of their husbands and fathers, but upon marriage, daughters should be identified with the House of their husbands.
3. She was baptized at St. Mary Magdalene church located at Sandringham, the Queen's estate in Norfolk. The first royal baby to have a public christening and the only grandchild of the Queen who was not baptized in the Lily font, a large silver-gilt baptismal font used at baptismal services of members of the British royal family.
4. At 12 years old in October 2002, she underwent a surgery in her back to correct a scoliosis. The surgery was performed at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital. She made a full recovery and today, Eugenie serves as the patron of the hospital.
5. She obtained a degree in English literature and history of art from the Newcastle University in north England.
6. She met her future husband, Jack Brooksbank, a wine merchant, in 2010 while holidaying in Verbier, Switzerland. They got married eight years later on October 12, 2018 at St. George's chapel, Windsor.
7. She is not a working royal and doesn't receive funding from the Sovereign's Grant. But she occasionally performed royal duties with her sister, Princess Beatrice. She is also a patron to some organizations in the UK, and co-founded "The Anti-Slavery Collective", a charity organization that raises awareness in modern slavery.

And once revealed how happy the Queen when she's in Balmoral. In the documentary Our Queen at Ninety, she talked about the monarch’s beloved Balmoral estate in Scotland. “It’s the most beautiful place on earth. I think Granny is the most happy there, I think she really, really loves the Highlands … Walks, picnics, dogs – a lot of dogs! And people coming in and out all the time. Family-wise we’re all there, so it’s a lovely base for granny and grandpa to be – for us to come and see them up there.”
10. She's the first and only British royal who has a verified instagram account. “We want to show people who we are as working, young, royal women, but also not to be afraid of putting ourselves out there,” she told Vogue UK in an interview with Beatrice. “Nowadays, it’s so easy to recoil when you see a perfect image on Instagram – but it’s important that it’s real. We’re real.”
11. She didn't wear a veil at her wedding. Princess Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank on October 12, 2018 and the surprising thing was, she ditched wearing the traditional wedding veil to reveal a scar at her back from the scoliosis surgery she underwent in 2002.
12. She loves to watch shows in Netflix. "I don’t watch reality shows, but I love cooking programmes. Indulgences? Chips – fries, as you say – Diet Coke, nuts! Cashew nuts with mustard are the best. Netflix.”
