Happy Royal News! Prince Guillaume and Princess Stephanie Expecting Their Second Child

Luxembourgian court announced pregnancy

Finally, there's a happy royal baby news we received today. After Queen Elizabeth II's death, there was an unprecedented sadness in the royal world as she was the longest-reigning monarch in the modern European monarchy, however, today, the Luxembourgian royal court announced a baby news!

Their Royal Highnesses, Prince Guillaume, the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, and Princess Stephanie (born a Belgian countess), the Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, are expecting a second child in April 2023. Which means Princess Stephanie is two months pregnant now.

The pregnancy announcement was made by the Grand Ducal House on social media and shared also by Grand Duchess Maria Teresa on her instagram. It's such a happy news because we've been hoping for a second baby from the Hereditary Grand Duke and Hereditary Grand Duchess.

The official announcement said: "Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess are delighted to announce that the Hereditary Grand Duke and Hereditary Grand Duchess are expecting their second child," the couple said in a statement. "The birth is scheduled for April."

Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel also shared a tweet regarding the happy baby news, congratulating the couple: "On behalf of the Government, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to Their Royal Highnesses the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Hereditary Grand Duchess on the occasion of the announcement of the expectation of their second child."

Their Royal Highnesses were married on October 20, 2012 at the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg. It was almost eight years later when they have their first child.

The second-in-line of succession to the Luxembourgian throne, Prince Charles, was born on May 10, 2020, at the height of the pandemic. He was the first royal baby to be born during the pandemic time. It was also Mother's Day when he was born so it was a double celebration for Princess Stephanie.

In many royal forums and podcasts, royal commentators would often say that the couple might have an only child, but we, in the Royal World News, are fervently hoping they will have a second child.

And now yes! It's confirmed baby number 2 is on the way for Prince Guillaume and Princess Stephanie, and we're very happy with this wonderful news!

We are wishing Princess Stephanie a safe pregnancy, and we are very much excited to look forward to see her newborn baby in April 2023. It means that the baby will be born a month before Prince Charles will turn three in May.

Prince Charles, although just two years old, is now exposed to public life. He has been accompanying his parents to public engagements as well as royal events and now already pro in taking royal duties!

In June this year, he accompanied his parents to the Gala Dinner for Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway's 18th birthday in Oslo, Norway. Royal fans were delighted to see him seated next to the future Queens of Europe during the photo session.

With this royal baby news, there will be changes in the line of succession to the Luxembourgian throne by 2023, with Prince Felix, the younger brother of Prince Guillaume, moving a notch below.

Congratulations Prince Guillaume and Princess Stephanie!
