Queen Elizabeth II Dies at 96. Our Condolences and Sympathy To Her Family and The UK

Deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of The United Kingdom. Her sense of duty, devotion to public service, and dedication to the role she assumed since 1952 were unparalleled. And she had served the kingdom and the commonwealth with sincerity, decency, and selfless devotion.

Buckingham Palace has just released the following statement: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

The Queen ascended the British throne on February 6, 1952, upon the death of her father, King George VI. She reigned for 70 years, serving as a beacon of stability at a tumultuous time, both publicly and personally.

Her reign was not perfect. It passed through many challenges, controversies, and scandals brought by the messy marriages of her children. But she carried on well and reigned with dignity.

The Queen was the longest-reigning monarch in British history, and the second in world history after King Louis XIV of France. Her death marked the end of an era. But her legacy will live on. She will never be forgotten.

The Queen endured one of the saddest moments of her life when her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, died on April 9, 2021. Since then, Her Majesty's health deteriorated, and she was not the same again.

Her mobility issues hampered her energy to fulfill her royal roles but she continued to carry the responsibilities as head of state through virtual conferences and online meetings.

And just this Tuesday, September 6, she formally appointed the new prime minister of the United Kingdom, Mary Elizabeth Truss.

The death of Queen Elizabeth II, which Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday, September 8, is a watershed moment for Britain, at once incomparable and incalculable. It marks the loss of a revered monarch — the only one most Britons have ever known.

Her most unforgettable statement: "My whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service".

Crowds outside Buckingham Palace swelled this evening before news of the queen’s death broke. After a hush, people here broke into “God Save the Queen.

She died at Balmoral Castle, her beloved summer home in the Scottish Highlands. All her four children, and grandson, Prince William, were at her bedside when she passed away.

She left behind four children, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She will be succeeded by her eldest son, The Prince of Wales.

There might never be another British Queen regnant again as the new king has two male heirs in direct succession to the throne.

Our deepest condolences to The Royal Family, to the United Kingdom and Her Majesty's Realms, and the Commonwealth. Rest in Peace, Your Majesty.

The newly ascended King released a statement on the passing of his mother. No confirmation yet on what will be his regnal name, whether it's King Charles III or King George VII.

The United Kingdom and Her Realms will enter into a 10-day period of mourning in reverence to Her Majesty.
