King Charles II and Queen Camilla's Coronation was the largest gathering of world royals since the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.

Traditionally, Crown Heads never attend the Coronation of the British Sovereign. During Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation in 1953, only Crown Princes attended the event.
However, at King Charles's Coronation, the ceremony made history as the first coronation to have foreign monarchs in attendance.

Reception at Buckingham Palace
The night before the big event, King Charles III hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace to formally welcome the royals to London.
There were royals who attended the Coronation Ceremony at Westminster Abbey but did not attend the reception. They were represented by members of their families instead.

For instance, Queen Mathilde was represented by her daughter, Princess Elisabeth, the Duchess of Brabant who accompanied her father to the reception.

The former Queen of The Netherlands, Princess Beatrix, accompanied by her granddaughter, Catharina-Amalia, the Princess of Orange, represented King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima.
Both Princess Elisabeth, Princess Catharina-Amalia, and Princess Beatrix did not attend the Coronation Ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
