The first big gathering of European royals happened today at the Memorial Service for the late King Constantine II of Greece.
The Memorial Service was held at St. George's Chapel in Windsor to honor the former King of Greece's long stay in the United Kingdom before moving back to live in Greece in 2013.

The former Greek monarch died from stroke January 10, 2023 in Athens, Greece. He was the last King of Greece.
For the most part of his life in exile, King Constantine II and his family settled in the United Kingdom, putting up a management consultancy business. In 2013, he sold his properties in Britain and moved back to live in Greece.

The King was the only brother of Queen Sofia of Spain and Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark. He was also the brother-in-law of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, godfather to Prince William, the Prince of Wales, and one of the closest cousins of King Charles III.

Royals who attended the memorial service today include the former King's family - Queen Anne Marie, Crown Prince Pavlos, Crown Princess Marie-Chantal, and their five children, Prince Nikolaus, Princess Tatiana, Princess Alexia and her husband, Princess Theodora, Prince Philippos and Princess Nina.

Queen Marie's older sister, Princess Benedikte attended with her only son Prince Gustav of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, and his wife, Princess Carina. We also saw Prince Kyril of Bulgaria and Queen Noor of Jordan.

King Charles III didn't attend as he is still undergoing cancer treatment and has minimized his public appearances. His son Prince William, who is a godson of the late Greek king, also skipped the event for "personal matters" which the palace did not disclose. His wife is still recuperating from abdominal surgery.
