King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark received the visiting Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at Christian VII's Palace for the welcome ceremony. Later in the evening, the King and Queen hosted a state banquet in honor of His Excellency and the Egyptian delegation.
As with most state banquets hosted by monarchs, the evening at Christiansborg Palace sparkled in royal jewels as royal ladies wore their glittering tiaras. The King's maternal aunt, Princess Benedikte, who is a Danish working royal, wore her husband's family heirloom, the Berleburg Fringe Tiara, while the King's sister-in-law, Princess Marie, wore the Diamond Floral Tiara, originally owned by Princess Dagmar (youngest daughter of King Frederik VIII).

This Diamond Floral Tiara was a wedding gift (or loan) from Queen Margrethe in 2007 when Marie married the Queen's second son, Prince Joachim. Since then, Princess Marie is the sole wearer of this sparkling jewel.
However, the most noticeable jewelry during this latest state banquet in Denmark is the diamond bandeau wore by Queen Mary. It's the newest addition to the Danish Crown Jewelry which she commissioned from the old suites of the royal jewelry collection.
Days ago, the Danish Royal Palace shared a video clip of the new royal jewelry, the Diamond Bandeau made from rose-cut diamonds, which shine like candles when hit by lights. This bandeau was crafted from the jewelry of Princess Charlotte Amalie, the daughter of King Frederik IV of Denmark, instead of just resting it in the collection, Queen Mary decided to transform it to a new head topper (which can also be worn as a necklace) to make it useful.
It looks magnificent in Queen Mary's head! Now, it's the newest jewel that she will most likely wear every now and then. As with most items in the Danish Crown Jewelry collection, this bandeau cannot be brought out of Denmark and can only be worn by Queen of Denmark.
