The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Share First Official Photo of Lilibet Diana

Last weekend, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled to England to attend the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration. They were seen only at two events: Trooping the Colour, and Service of Thanksgiving.

The couple did not attend the Platinum Party at Buckingham Palace and the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, which was held on Sunday, June 5. Both events were attended by most members of the British royal family.

Before the Queen's balcony appearance on the final day of the celebration, the Sussexes left England for California. And while they brought their children, Archie and Lili, during the trip, both kids were not seen publicly in England.

Their youngest, Lilibet Diana, celebrated her first birthday on June 4, 2022, in Frogmore Cottage, Windsor, which the Sussexes continued to lease.

According to a spokesperson for the Sussexes, the birthday party was attended by close friends and family. The children's party of Lili was attended by the children of Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips.

No other reports could validate if the children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the party as they were both in Cardiff, Wales on June 4 also.

But the social media accounts of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Royal Family, and the Clarence House, marked the first birthday of Lili.

Lili's first birthday was celebrated with a casual backyard picnic in Frogmore. It featured a cake from the baker, Claire Ptak, touted to be made from her parents' wedding cake in 2018.

Just today, June 6, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a solo photo of Lilibet Diana, only her second photo released publicly since the family portrait of the Sussexes during the Holiday season.

The photograph was taken by Misan Harriman, one of the most trusted photographers of Harry and Meghan. He also took two candid shots of the couple when they announced Meghan's pregnancy in February 2021.

Lili wore an Angel set attire from Amaia, it's made up of a frilled top with hand smoking at the collar. It has a matching bloomer with elasticated legs.

It was also confirmed that the Queen finally met Lili and Archie during their stay in Frogmore as this royal estate is just a walking distance from Windsor Castle where the Queen currently resides.

Misan Harriman also shared a black-and-white photo of Meghan holding Lili taken during the party with his family. The photographer wrote a caption on instagram: "It was such a privilege to celebrate the first birthday of Lilibet with my family and hers".

The Sussexes' spokesperson revealed that the Duke and Duchess were touched by the birthday wishes for Lili, and that people around the world made donations to the World Central Kitchen in Lili's honor.

Chef Jose Andres of the World Central Kitchen has partnered with the Sussexes' Archewell Foundation in December 2020. They both worked for the donations for Ukraine and Uvalde victims.

World Central Kitchen provides meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crisis. They build resilient food systems with locally-led solutions.

Lili was born on June 4, 2021 in Santa Barbara, California, and named after the Queen (using her family nickname of Lilibet) and the late Princess of Wales, Diana.

Legally, she has a courtesy title of "Lady" and should have been called Lady Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, and her older brother, Lord Dumbarton. But Harry and Meghan decided not to give their children any aristocratic references and preferred them to be known simply by their names.

Lili will be given the title "Princess" and Archie "Prince" once Prince Charles ascends the British throne, however, the decision still depends on Prince Harry and Meghan if they wish their children to be granted with royal titles.

They can choose not to, just like the children of the Earl and Countess of Wessex who are known, not as grandchildren of the Queen in the male line, but as children of a British peer.

According to a royal source, William and Kate and their children were invited to the picnic birthday party of  Lilibet but the Cambridges declined due to their public engagement in Cardiff, Wales.
