A surprise visit from The Sovereign Prince of Monaco and his twins! Prince Albert II of Monaco took time off from his busy schedule last week to bring his children, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, to a theme park before classes resume next month.

His Serene Highness brought his twins to Parc Asterix, the second largest theme park in France after Disneyland, without his wife, Princess Charlene.

The Sovereign Prince has been an attentive father to his seven-year-old twins since Princess Charlene took a back seat in performing royal duties in 2021.

The Princess Consort of Monaco had an extended stay in South Africa last year due to an ear infection. She also had to stay abroad for several months for her medical treatment due to physical and emotional exhaustion.

But in April this year, Princess Charlene resumed her royal duties, appearing alongside Prince Albert and their children in a number of public events.

However, she did not accompany her husband and their twins during a Disneyland Paris trip in May this year. No statement also from the Prince's Palace of Monaco as to why Princess Charlene was not seen accompanying her husband and children to theme park visits this year.

The last time she was seen accompanying them during a theme park visit was in 2019. The Monegasque royals have been dogged with separation rumors since 2021 but both Prince Albert and Princess Charlene denied the rumors.

However, the recent public appearances of the couple made royal fans wonder. Based on observation, Princess Charlene only appears with her husband and twins on official public events, but never on family outings.

Her last public appearance with her husband was in July during an official visit to Vatican City in Rome, Italy, for a private audience with Pope Francis.

There was also no traces of Princess Charlene's presence with Prince Albert in his recent public engagement. and she was not seen accompanying him in public events for the month of August.
