Royal fans frenzy Over Lady Louise's Summer Look. And The Borrowed Dress From Her Mom

Their Royal Highnesses, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, accompanied by their children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn, attended various events of the Commonwealth Games. Prince Edward is the vice-patron of the Commonwealth Games Federation.

However, the center of attention during the family's appearances is the Earl's eldest child, Lady Louise, who will turn 19 this coming November 8, 2022.

Her appearance at the Commonwealth Games has sparked a frenzy reaction among royal fans, noting how much the youngest granddaughter of The Queen grew up into a beautiful, stylish lady.

Her cool temperament and refreshing look gave us some warm summer vibes. Royal fans also take notice of her unique taste in fashion. She favors midi dress in techno patterns, loose skirts, and sneakers, reflecting an outdoorsy vibe.

Lady Louise develops an interest in horse carriage driving, a passion she inherited from her grandpapa, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, so her taste in fashion is more of an outdoorsy hippie style, which is rugged casual.

Lady Louise and her brother, James, grow up away from the spotlight as their parents shielded them from the limelight, so each time these siblings are in public, it's a great treat to royal fans.

The siblings' daily appearance in various Commonwealth Games with their parents allowed royal fans to take notice of them more. It's so rare to see Louise and James attending events in public because they are not working royals.

However, in the recent development in the Firm (the Royal Family) where working royals are further reduced to 11 where seven of them are already senior citizens, many have wondered if it's good for the Royal family to allow Princess Beatrice and any of the Wessex children to take official royal roles.

Legally, both Louise and James are Princess and Prince of the United Kingdom respectively because they are covered under the George V Convention of 1917 which stated that grandchildren of the British Sovereign in the male line are titled HRH Prince and Princess.

Although the Earl and Countess of Wessex chose not to give them HRH style, it is not official because Her Majesty did not issue a letter patent to make it permanent unlike the case of Princess Patricia of Connaught in the past.

Thus, Lady Louise and her brother, Viscount Severn, can still opt to use the title Prince and Princess if they wish to, in the future.

Since November last year, when she turned 18, Louise has gained the ability to decide for herself whether she wants to take on the HRH style and title of princess.

However, the Countess of Wessex does not expect her children to choose to become working members of the Royal Family

In an interview with the Sunday Times in June two years ago, Sophie said she and Edward were giving their children freedom to choose their future paths.

"We try to bring them up with the understanding they are very likely to have to work for a living", she said. "Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles. They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it’s highly unlikely."

Close to the Queen

Lady Louise and James are believed to be very close to the Queen, with one source previously claiming the monarch had been particularly impressed by the teenagers' love for Balmoral

Viscount Severn reportedly loves fly fishing, a sport enjoyed by Prince Philip and the Queen Mother before him.

On the other hand, Louise is such a talented artist she was granted access by Her Majesty to "some of the collection of Queen Victoria’s Highlands sketches which are kept at Balmoral but are rarely dug out these days", a source has claimed.

Recycling mom's dress

During one of their appearances, Lady Louise was seen borrowing a dress previously worn by her mother, a sleeveless ensemble by fashion designer, Peter Pilotto, the wedding gown designer of Princess Eugenie.

The blue and pink design came complete with a funky abstract print in vibrant shades and was first worn by the Countess of Wessex to the Chelsea Flower Show in 2015, and again in 2018.

Lady Louise made her mom's dress look ultra modern by pairing it with white sneakers and a lovely fringed bag. She styled her hair in curls, making her appearance a refreshing look of summer.

For this engagement, the 18-year-old gathered her hair in a half-ponytail, letting some of her curls fall on her shoulders.

It was not the first time Lady Louise has borrowed her mother's clothes. In the recent Trooping The Color Ceremony (June 3) where she rode in a carriage with her brother and parents, she re-wore her mother's pink blazer and hat, which Sophie has worn in the same event in 2009.

Royals love to recycle their apparel. Given the impact of fast fashion and throwaway culture on the environment, we love that young Louise is a keen advocate of recycling clothing.

A source told London Evening Standard that Lady Louise reminds the Queen of her younger self. "We've loved seeing Lady Louise Windsor at the Commonwealth Games this week! The young royal has been to many of the races and heats during the event, and has been accompanying her mother, the Countess of Wessex, her father, Prince Edward, and her younger brother, James Viscount Severn".

On Tuesday afternoon, where they watched the swimming event with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Charlotte, the blonde royal was seen rocking a very boho style look. Lady Louise donned a lovely paisley print maxi skirt from high street store Lipsy.

The skirt is the main focus of the outfit and is a great staple to have in your wardrobe in the summer months as they are lightweight, easy to slip on, but still look stylish.

Currently, James and Louise are 15th and 16th in the line of succession to the British throne behind their father, Prince Edward, who is 14th. James is using his father's secondary title as a courtesy style, Viscount Severn.

The Earl of Wessex is expected to inherit the Duke of Edinburgh title of Prince Philip when Prince Charles ascends the throne. As of the moment, the Prince of Wales, as the eldest son, inherited the Duke of Edinburgh upon Prince Philip's death.
