"We have been through so much together and I will never forget the love, tenderness, and support she showed me and my family. She will be greatly missed".

The former Greek king, whose father was a first cousin of Prince Philip, shared how Queen Elizabeth II had been so generous and kind to his family during the trying times of their lives.

He was referring to the period he was forced to flee Greece with his family during the military coup that ousted him from the throne. They settled in Italy and later moved to the United Kingdom where they lived for the most part of their lives.
