Queen Magrethe Hosted Luncheon Aboard the Royal Yacht With Nordic Heads of State

The weekend events of the Queen's Golden Jubilee in Denmark continued on Sunday, September 11, with a church service at Our Lady's Church, attended by her extended family and the Nordic royals, King Harald V of Norway and his wife, Queen Sonja, and King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and his wife, Queen Silvia.

However, the celebrations were largely scaled down and modified at the request of Queen Margrethe II in respect to the mourning period in Britain for her cousin, Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday, September 8.

The church service was attended by the same royals who were present at the gala performance at the Royal Theater. Government leaders, mayors in Denmark and Greenland, and other leading organizations also attended the service.

The Queen's weekend jubilee celebration will wrap up in the evening of Sunday with a gala night dinner at Christianborg Palace. Royals are expected to wear their sparkling tiaras again. We will feature it next.
