Monegasque Royals Attend Rose Ball Without Princess Charlene

The mystery behind the absence of the Princess consort of Monaco, Princess Charlene, at Rose Ball, Monaco's most glamorous event of the year, continues to intrigue royal fans.

There maybe a valid reason why the Sovereign Prince's wife couldn't attend the event, but it's been nine years since Princess Charlene last attended the Rose Ball, which was founded by Prince Albert's mother, Princess Grace, as a charity ball event.

Princess Caroline, Beatrice, Charlotte 

Her continued absence is often subjected to speculation that there's an uneasiness between her and Princess Caroline, the older sister of her husband.

Princess Caroline is still the chairperson of Rose Ball and didn't turn over the responsibility to Princess Charlene despite the fact that this charity event is supposed to be headed by Monaco's Princess consort.

Princess Grace founded Rose Ball to raise funds for her various charities. She headed the event until her death in 1982, which was then passed to her older child, Princess Caroline.

Rose Ball is one of the biggest charity fund-raising events in Monaco attended by members of the House of Grimaldi and celebrities. It is considered the most glamorous public event in Monaco and one of the highlights in the royal calendar of the Monegasque royals.

However, Princess Charlene is constantly nowhere in sight during this event for almost a decade. Thus, her absence continues to be debated in the royal circle.

What could be the reason why she never attended this event among the public events in Monaco? This question might never be answered in the coming years. Well, perhaps until Princess Caroline will turn over the chairmanship of the event to Princess Charlene? 

Princess Charlene attends Monaco Women's Forum 

Just days ago, Princess Charlene and Prince Albert attended the 11th edition of the Monaco Women's Forum Awards. She looked radiant in a grey sequins dress from Akris.

In contrast, Princess Charlene regularly attended the Red Cross Ball, which is another charity fund-raising event of the year for Monaco's Red Cross. 

For this year's Rose Ball, the theme was "Bollywood" and was co-organized by fashion designer, Christian Louboutin.

Her daughter-in-law, Beatrice Borromeo-Casiraghi, wore a beautiful dress from Dior. Tatiana, another daughter-in-law, wore a Jenny Packham dress.
