Leonor, The Princess of Asturias, and Princess Elisabeth, the Duchess of Brabant marked significant milestones in their respective military training in September this year.
The two future Queens trained in the military as part of their future roles as heads of state. While The Duchess of Brabant trained only for a few months and attended the university afterwards, The Princess of Asturias is reportedly will undergo three-year continues training.

Saber Presentation Ceremony of Princess LeonorÂ
The Princess of Asturias, who began her military training in August this year at the General Military Academy in Zaragoza, received her sword of saber as the symbol of the status of a knight or a dame cadet.

The ceremony took place in September and came after they received their beret cap. Saber is traditionally a symbol of the status of the knight or dame cadet w, which is obligated to "embrace the ideals of honor, courage, and loyalty in the Decalogue of the Cadet".

Leonor, the Princess of Asturias, is the heir-presumptive of King Felipe VI of Spain as his eldest daughter. Heir-presumptive because Spain has not yet changed its law of succession. It remains male-preference primogeniture succession. King Felipe VI had two daughters and no son.
The Princess of Asturias will turn 18 this coming October 30, so she will increasingly take royal duties. Her father is expected to turn over the chairmanship role of the foundations - The Princess of Asturias and The Princess of Girona to her this year.

Princess Leonor will stay in the military academy for three years to train in the three branches of the Spanish Armed Forces: the army, the navy, and the air force. Then she will decide where she will attend for her university diploma.
The Duchess of Brabant Took Oath as a military officer
Princess Elisabeth, the Duchess of Brabant officially took the oath as an officer, commissioned to the rank of Deputy Lieutenant of the Belgian Army.

Her Oath-taking ceremony took place at the Royal Military Academy in Belgium last month. Her oath said: " I swear allegiance to the King, obedience to the Constitution, and the laws of the Belgian people".

She took part in the ceremony along with her comrades from the 160th Promotion in Social and Military Sciences and the officer cadets from the 175th Polytechnic Promotion.
Her father, King Philippe of the Belgians, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Belgian Armed Forces, received the student officers of the Royal Military Academy who were also sworn as officers.

Present at the oath-taking ceremony of Princess Elisabeth, apart from her father, were her mother, Queen Mathilde, and siblings, Prince Gabriel (who currently trained in the military), Prince Emmanuel, and Princess Eleonore.
Princess Elisabeth will turn 22 years old on October 25, 2023. She is the first Belgian royal to become the country's heir-apparent.
