In 2019, His Majesty stripped his grandchildren from Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine with their HRH styles (the Prince and Princess titles were retained) to streamline the Swedish monarchy and to allow the children to have a freedom to choose what they want in the future. But they retained their places in the line of succession.Â
