The controversial Norwegian princess, Märtha Louise, who is currently fourth in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne, and self-styled American shaman from California, Durek Verett, finally got married on August 31, 2024, at the picturesque Geiranger in Norway, and the celebration was held at Hotel Union. The event was exclusively covered by Hello magazine after the princess and her beau sold the rights to cover their wedding.
Princess Märtha Louise's family members who attended the wedding: Her three daughters from her first marriage to Norwegian writer, Ari Behn, who died in 2019: Maud Angelica Behn. Leah Isadora Behn, and Emma Tallulah Behn, her parents King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway, her younger brother Crown Prince Haakon, his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit, and their two children: Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus, who came along with his girlfriend, and the bride's aunt: Princess Astrid, Mrs. Ferner.

The bride wore an ivory silk sleeveless gown designed by Tina Steffenakk Hermansen, a Norwegian couture designer, and her veil was held in place by the small tiara, a pearl and diamond tiara, which was given to her in 1989 as an 18th birthday gift from her grandfather, King Olav V of Norway.

It was the culmination of a controversial romance that divided Norway for a couple of years with some people calling Durek Verett a conman. Princess Märtha Louise in an interview called her romance and eventual wedding to Durek "love conquers all".
The couple announced their engagement in 2022, and months later, the princess announced that she would step back from her role as a working royal, to separate herself and Durek Verett's activities from the royal house of Norway. However, she retains her place in the line of succession.
