Dutch King and Queen Host State Banquet for Portuguese President

On December 10, the incumbent President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Souza, made a two-day state visit to The Netherlands at the invitation of Dutch King, Willem-Alexander. The purpose is to strengthen the diplomatic and trade ties between the two countries. 

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima officially welcomed President Rebelo de Sousa on Dam Square in Amsterdam. The President then laid a wreath at the National Monument. They later held a meeting and paid a visit to the Portuguese Synagogue in the Dutch capital.

In the evening, the Dutch King and Queen hosted a State Banquet in honor of the visiting Portuguese president and his entourage at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. Catharina-Amalia, the Princess of Orange joined her parents in hosting the state banquet.

It was Amalia's second appearance in a state banquet, the first one was in April during the visit of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain.

The Princess of Orange in her lilac embroidered dress

For the evening, Amalia wore a resplendent lilac embroidered gown along with the Pearl Button Tiara in a star diamond setting. This is the same tiara she debuted in 2022 in Norway. Also, her mother's wedding tiara in 2002. Queen Maxima was every inch a queen in her red dress and Mellerio Ruby Tiara.

On the final evening of his state visit, President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa hosted a musical performance called Fado, and a reception for King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima at the KIT building, formerly the Royal Tropical Institute.
