Two royal princesses just graduated from high school this month of May 2025: Princess Ariane of The Netherlands and Infanta Sofia of Spain, they both turned 18 also in April this year.Â
The NetherlandsÂ
Princess Ariane obtained her International Baccalaureate diploma from the United World Colleges Adriatic in Duino, Italy. Her parents, King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands and Queen Maxima attended her graduation ceremony.Â
It's not known, however, where the third in line to the Dutch throne proceeds to university, the King and Queen have yet to announce the update. Princess Ariane's two older sisters are in different campuses. Princess Catharina-Amalia is currently studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economy at the University of Amsterdam while Princess Alexia is at the University College London taking Engineering Sciences.
SpainÂ
Infanta Sofia of Spain also obtained her International Baccalaureate diploma from the United World Colleges Atlantic College campus in Wales, United Kingdom. Her parents, King Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia attended her graduation ceremony.
The Spanish royal house early on announced that Infanta Sofia will not be joining her sister, Princess Leonor, in the military training. Instead, she will directly attend the university starting this autumn.
Norway
Just days ago, the Norwegian royal household announced that Princess Ingrid Alexandra, second in line in direct succession to the throne, chose to study in Sydney, Australia starting this autumn.

The 21-year-old princess will be taking up International Relations and Political Economy at the University of Sydney. It wil be a three-year course program and Princess Ingrid Alexandra will be a full time student, meaning she will leave in a student dormitory within the campus.
