Princess Charlene often made headlines since returning to public duty in April this year due to the health issues she suffered in 2021 while in South Africa.

Her marriage to the Sovereign Prince of Monaco continues to attract wild speculation from the public and the press. Paris' top-selling magazine, Voici, claimed Prince Albert reportedly ‘pays’ Princess Charlene millions to fulfill royal duties.

“The princess did not return at any price: she would have had her husband sign an ultra-confidential contract. Among the conditions, he will grant her 12 million euros per year.” - according to the Voici

The issue remained unverified as the Prince's Palace of Monaco refused to validate the reported monetary settlement.

Since releasing their wedding anniversary portrait on July 1, 2022, to mark their 11th wedding anniversary, Their Serene Highnesses were not seen in public engagements.

They attended public events separately. And Princess Charlene did not attend the much-anticipated social and charity event in Monaco, the Rose Ball, which was meant to raise funds for Princess Grace Foundation.

This charity event in Monaco, Bal de la Rosa or Rose Ball, was founded by Prince Albert's mother, Grace Kelly, in 1954, after she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco.

Princess Charlene, despite being the Princess Consort of Monaco, has not attended this star-studded event in Monaco since 2014, which made royal fans to wonder. The Rose Ball is still headed by Prince Albert II's older sister, Princess Caroline.

In the recent solo public engagements of Prince Albert II, he was supported by his two sisters - Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie, and two nephews, Pierre and Andrea Casiraghi. While Princess Charlene performed a solo engagement, including a visit to the pediatric ward of Princess Grace Hospital.

On July 11, she delighted tourists - who are visiting the Prince's Palace - by making a surprise appearance during a guided tour of the Palace as its public wing reopened.

A group of tourists was on a guided tour of the Prince's Palace and were taken into the upgraded wings when suddenly Princess Charlene popped in.

Her Serene Highness saw the group in the hallway and stopped to take photos and exchange hugs. Then she joined the tour and saw a handful of newly discovered royal treasures.

The extensive renovation of the wing apartments began in 2015, commissioned by the Sovereign Prince. During the renovation, workers discovered a set of 16th-century frescoes which represent the Twelve Labors of Hercules in a hallway ceiling.
