Herlufsholm School became controversial lately due to the issues of bullying, harassment, and other forms of abuse, prompting Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary to pull out their eldest child, Prince Christian, from the school.

Prince Nikolai began his two-year military program at the Royal Danish Army's Sergeant School in 2018 but dropped out two months later. He enrolled at the Copenhagen Business School to study Business Administration and Service Management in 2019.

Prince Nikolai signed as a fashion model with the agency Scoop Models and made his runway debut in February 2018 at Burberry's show at London Fashion Week.

In June this year, Prince Felix and Prince Nikolai sat down for a joint interview with Billed Bladet, a society magazine in Denmark. They talked about personal topics like relationships and Prince Joachim's brain surgery in 2020. It was the first time that they sat down for an interview.

In addition, it appears in the interview that the youngest man Felix has recently become single. It was last summer that the prince could reveal to the Danes BT that he had gotten a girlfriend.

The couple met through mutual friends and went on holiday together to Chateau de Cayx, the French wine castle owned by Queen Margrethe, where the Danish royal family often vacations.

"It’s true that I’m dating Karen. We have met for a long time", he admitted previously. However, the prince does not share any more details about the relationship, except that he confirms that it is now over.

Prince Nikolai, on the other hand, is currently in a relationship with a lady named Benedikte. "We started as good friends and from there it developed. We enjoy each other’s company and have a good time together" , Prince Nikolai said during the interview.

They also talked about the scary brain blood clot of their father, Prince Joachim, in July 2020. They were on a vacation in Cahors, France, at their estate, Chateau de Cayx when the incident took place.

But late in the evening of July 24, 2020, Prince Joachim was rushed into the hospital in Toulouse, France due to a blood clot in his brain and had to be operated on immediately.

Fortunately, the surgery was successful and Joachim was able to recover after a few days in the intensive care unit. Nevertheless, Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix were very worried about their father.

They were with their father in Chateau de Cayx in July 2020 and had just returned to Denmark when the incident happened.

"We had actually just said goodbye that day and were on our way home from a vacation together. So it was a shock for all of us. Of course, you want to help, but I’m glad we were spared such a horrible experience", Prince Nikolai revealed.

He added that he and Prince Felix called every day to find out about their father's situation in France. "We called every day and got a status of his health. I don’t think you’ve thought about it that much".

Their mother, Countess Alexandra of Frederiksborg, who maintains a close relationship with their father, was also a great support during the scary incident.

They also talked about their stepmother, Princess Marie. “At the time the pandemic was on, only one person was allowed to visit the clinic, Marie was with him every day. So we also relied a lot on her, especially during this time. She was the closest contact to our father", Prince Nikolai said.

Prince Felix agreed with his brother, “I think if he [Joachim] should be in someone’s hands, it’s in theirs.

The young princes were glad that the dark ordeal of their father was over and Prince Joachim is now back in good health. He has been busy doing his job in Paris, France as a Danish diplomat.
