Almost a month since Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest in Windsor, her former daughter-in-law, Sarah, Duchess of York, shares several snaps of Muick and Sandy, believed to have been taken at the Royal Lodge's ground.

Today, October 15, Sarah celebrates her 63rd birthday, so the timing of sharing updates about the Queen's two beloved corgis is special. She captioned the photo on her instagram, "the presents that keep giving".

Muick and Sandy are Welsh Pembroke Corgis, the favorite dog breed of the Queen. Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, gifted the two pups to his mother to keep her company while his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was staying in the hospital.

The Queen stopped breeding corgis in 2015 due to old age. She feared she could no longer take care of them as before, but she reportedly felt delighted when her second son surprised her with two dogs in March 2021.

Muick and Sandy traveled with the Queen to Balmoral in July for her last summer trip and were said to have been at the side of the Queen during her final hours. It was later reported that Muick and Sandy will live with the Duke and Duchess of York at the Royal Lodge following the Queen's funeral.

The two pups touched the public hearts during the Queen's funeral when they were taken into the quadrangle of Windsor Castle to pay their respects to their master, and waited for hours to see the Queen's coffin passed by at the castle. Before them, Emma, the Queen's favorite horse, was also seen standing on the roadside with the Queen's head groom, Terry Pendry, paying tribute to Her Majesty.

In her tribute to the Queen, Sarah described her sorrow on the passing of the longest-reigning British monarch, describing the late Queen as the most incredible mother-in-law and friend, saying "I will always be grateful to her for the generosity she showed me in remaining close to me even after my divorce. I will miss her more than words can express".

Known as Fergie, Sarah was permitted to keep her title, Duchess of York, following her divorce from Prince Andrew in 1996. Through a letter patent issued by the Queen in 1996, Sarah was to be known henceforth as Sarah, Duchess of York as long as she would not remarry to someone else.

In 2004, Sarah went back to live with Prince Andrew at the Royal Lodge but maintained they did not reconcile or whatsoever, and they were living in separate quarters. However, it was reported that they would regularly spend time with the Queen privately having tea, either at the Royal Lodge or at Windsor Castle.
