The King and Queen will travel on a Diamond Jubilee Coach from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey on the Coronation Day. This coach is an enclosed six-horse-drawn carriage originally made for Queen Elizabeth II's 80th birthday in 2006. However, the completion was delayed and eventually became a commemoration for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebration.

From Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace after the Coronation, King Charles and Queen Camilla will travel on a Gold State Coach, an enclosed eight-horse-drawn carriage originally made in 1760 for King George III.

The Gold State Coach has been used at the Coronation of every British monarch since King William IV. It is one of the most splendid royal coaches used in Europe today. It is a gilded coach featuring panels by Giovanni Battista Cipriani, and a rich gilded sculpture including three cherubs on the roof and four tritons.

The body of the coach is slung by braces covered with Morocco leather and decorated with gilt buckles. The interior is lined with velvet and satin.

The sculptor, Sir Joseph Wilton, produced the elaborate carvings on the coach. The roof supports three cherubs representing the union of England, Scotland, and Ireland. They carry the Imperial Crown and hold the sword, scepter, and badge representing Knighthood.

The branches of eight gilded palm trees frame the roof. Four corner trees rise from a lion's head and are decorated with symbols of Britain's victory in the Seven Years' War with France.
