Prince Christian of Denmark, second-in-line in direct succession to the Danish throne turns 18 on October 15, 2023. His grandmother, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, marked the special milestone with a gala reception at Christiansborg Palace.
Royal guests include the young future Queens in Europe (in photo below): Princess Estelle of Sweden, Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway, Catharina-Amalia, the Princess of Orange, and Princess Elisabeth, the Duchess of Brabant.

The event saw royals in their magnificent court regalia with royal ladies wearing their elegant ball gowns and sparkling tiaras.Â
However, apart from Danish and Greek royals, only royals from Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands, and Belgium attended the event in Copenhagen.

Prince Joachim, the celebrant's uncle and godfather, returned home from the United States to attend the celebration together with his wife, Princess Marie, and three children - Count Felix, Count Henrik, and Countess Athena of Monpezat. Prince Joachim's eldest son, Count Nikolai is currently in Sydney, Australia.

Early in the day, the Danish royals appeared on the palace balcony to greet the cheering crowd. Prince Christian looked dapper in a striped suit while his mother, Crown Princess Mary, looked elegant in a coat blue dress. Queen Margrethe II looked pretty in fuchsia pink.
