Catherine, the Princess of Wales made an appearance at the men's single finals at Wimbledon Tennis Championship on Sunday, July 14, 2024, bringing alongside her daughter, Princess Charlotte of Wales.Â
Just hours before the appearance, Kensington Palace confirmed she will attend the men's single finals to hand out trophies.
As she and Charlotte approached the royal box, spectators stood up and cheers to give her a warm welcome. A loud applause later erupted to acknowledge her presence.
Later, she handed out a winner's trophy to Spanish tennis star, Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated Tennis ace, Novak Djokovic of Serbia in straight sets. Kate also handed Djokovic with a runner's up plaque.Â
The appearance of Catherine at this year's Wimbledon even just for one day is a major development of her physical health as she continues to undergo a preventative treatment for her cancer diagnosis, prompting her to step back from royal duty this year.
The Wimbledon Championship is just her second public appearance after Trooping the Colours in June following her public announcement that she has cancer.
The Princess of Wales is the patron of All England Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016 when she took over the role from Queen Elizabeth II.Â
Meanwhile, her husband Prince William and their eldest child, Prince George traveled to Berlin Germany, to support the England Football team as they battle Spain in the championship.
The Prince of Wales met his cousin King Felipe VI and Infanta Sofia who also came to Germany to support the Spanish team.
Congratulations to Spain for winning the Euro Football Championship! 🎉Â
