On Monday, while King Charles III traveled to Poland for the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz Nazi Concentration Camp, his son and heir, Prince William, with his wife, Catherine, attended a Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony in London. The Prince and Princess of Wales met survivors during the ceremony and then proceeded to the Guildhall for the reception.Â
The event was the first joint public appearance of William and Catherine this year. It's also Kate's second public appearance in an official capacity since her visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital two weeks ago to thank the staff for taking care of her during her cancer treatment.Â
For the event, Catherine wore a Catherine Walker black coat, pearl drop earrings from the Queen Elizabeth II jewelry collection, and a new five-strand pearl necklace from Susan Caplan as confirmed by the brand on Instagram.
"Today marks 80 years since the Holocaust, and as a Jewish-owned brand we are honored that the Princess of Wales chose to wear our necklace for today’s memorial to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day", says Susan Caplan's official IG account.Â
