Spanish royals on summer break in Palma de Mallorca

King Felipe VI of Spain, his wife, Queen Letizia, and their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia have been in the Balearic islands since July 28, 2022, as part of their annual summer holiday tradition.

Mixing leisure with duties, the royal couple attended several public engagements in Palma de Mallorca during the duration of their stay. And the king, a keen sailor, even participated in the sailing race, where his team ended on a high note, being the 5th placer out of more than 100 sailboat participants.

On August 10, Wednesday, the Spanish royals capped their summer holiday in the Balearic islands with a morning stroll around the historic shopping streets of Palma de Mallorca, wearing cool outfits that reflect the relaxing vibe of summer.

King Felipe VI, as cool as always with his outfit choices, donned a light brown chino short pants and powder blue shirt, while Queen Letizia, donned white polo long sleeves which she rolled up to her elbows, and striped blue shorts.

Queen Letizia also wore her favorite summer footwear fashion, the espadrilles! This time she chose a flat design of espadrille from Boss.

Princess Leonor wore a strawberry pink summer dress from Mango, pairing it with a pair of Macarena shoes espadrille wedges. While Infanta Sofia wore a summery dress from Sfera clothing brand and a pair of Macarena shoes black espadrille wedges.

The royals walked down Carrer de Colom, a stone's throw from the city's famous cathedral. They were spotted rubbing shoulders with tourists while having their morning stroll around Palma's historic shopping streets.

The Spanish family, who traditionally spend their lengthy annual summer break in Palma de Mallorca, cut short their summer holiday this year to return to Madrid. Perhaps, because Princess Leonor will leave for UK soon to continue her secondary school study in Wales.

The Princess of Asturias is in her last year in the secondary school at the University World College of the Atlantic in Wales, and the school year will begin this coming August 26, 2022.

This is will be the last time that royal fans will see them as one family unit because Princess Leonor is would not be back in Spain until the last week of October for autumn school break. She is expected to celebrate her 17th birthday in Madrid on the 30th day of October.
